WAIHEKE RESOURCE RECOVERY PARK

Subheading lorem ipsum dolor sit amet consectetur

It’s time for us to rethink waste.

When the Community Resource Recovery Park (RRP) opened in July 2020, it marked a milestone in the growth of Auckland Council’s Resource Recovery Network, which is currently made up of nine Community Recycling Centres (CRCs) spread across the region. Waiheke’s Community RRP operates from the previous Waiheke Transfer Station site at 108-110 Ostend Road. The Waiheke Zero Waste Partnership – made up of the Waiheke branch of AIM Services and local community organisations, Island Waste Collective (IWC) and Clean Island (CI) – is running the new operation in collaboration with Auckland Council.

The Community RRP will help us all to reuse, repurpose, upcycle, and recycle our unwanted items – to turn waste into a resource and keep it out of the landfill. Keeping it local and building a sustainable future – by Waiheke, for Waiheke.

Opening Hours

  • 8am-4pm, seven days a week
  • Ph (09) 890 4001
  • 12pm midday to 4pm, ANZAC Day (25 April)
  • Closed on Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Good Friday.

There is no charge to drop off reusable items or household quantities of recycling.

Waiheke Island has a new Resource Recovery Shop

Auckland Council and the Waiheke community have a commitment to reduce waste going to landfill. Our new Recovery Shop, connected to the Waiheke Community Resource Recovery Park and run by Island Waste Collective (IWC), plays a useful role in diverting items that can be reused or recycled away from landfill.

Pop in and see if we have anything you might fancy. We look forward to seeing you.

Location

  • 4-6 Tahi Road, Ostend, Waiheke.
  • Open 8am-4pm Monday to Sunday.
  • Closed on Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Good Friday.

Together we can protect our land and waste nothing.
